Ordinary Committee Member
My name is Naomi & I am retired. Recently I moved to a Retirement village in the Sydney Northern Suburbs. My chief hobbies are yoga, meditation, tai chi, qi guong, bushwalking, watching comedy shows on TV, reading, socialising with family & friends, films, theatre & dining out. Previously, I have worked as an RN & Naturopath, in Australia & overseas. As an RN, I specialised in Coronary Care & Aged Care. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1990; in some ways, it was the best thing that happened in my life for it made me put my life under a microscope & examine all parts, physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually. I believe it was using complementary medicines & treatments for 5 months prior to surgery which meant I didn't need chemotherapy or radiation. Following surgery, I was cancer free & have remained so. I have been actively involved with the Central Coast CISS group for many years. My hope is that CISS will continue to provide to any person who is diagnosed with cancer, the same level of invaluable help & support with complementary therapies & treatments I received.
